Photoshoot with Jaimme at StreetStar Studios
If you’ve ever booked a promo shoot, you’ll know it’s equal parts exciting, nerve-wracking, and somehow… a full-body workout. This week I had a photoshoot with Jaimme at StreetStar Studios, and honestly, I came away buzzing (and then the next day I came away aching).
StreetStar have moved into an impressive new studio space and it really shows. It’s bright, professional, and set up in a way that makes you feel like you’re walking into a proper creative hub — not just a room with a camera in it. I also got to see some of the team again which was genuinely lovely. There’s something really comforting about being around people who get what you do and are just as excited about creating as you are.
Jaimme: professional, warm, and just easy to be around
Jaimme is one of those people who instantly puts you at ease. Total professional, but also so lovely — the kind of person you could chat to for hours. For anyone who feels awkward in front of a camera (me… sometimes), that makes a massive difference.
What I loved most is that she didn’t just stand back and shoot — she guided me through poses and helped me recreate the kinds of shots I had in my head. That support is everything when you’re trying to capture a specific vibe for promo. I had an absolute awesome time with her.
Three outfit changes (and yes, posing is exhausting)
We did three dress changes:
Two custom-made replica outfits made by yours truly (very proud of these)
One more casual look featuring Lainey’s shirt from her Wrangler collection
It was so much fun switching up the looks because it gives you variety for different types of promo — posters, socials, press kits, the lot. But I’m not even going to pretend: posing is tiring. By the end I could feel it in every muscle, and the day after my body was properly aching. Worth it though.
The results: 400 photos and the impossible task of choosing.
We came out with around 400 photos. FOUR HUNDRED!!!
And then came the hard part: narrowing it down to around 10 for my main promo shots. Why is choosing always harder than the actual shoot?
Some of the shots had me giving full Chandler-from-Friends energy — you know the one: “look down… look down… cheese” — ifkyk.
But that’s the thing: the gallery wasn’t just “serious promo face” the whole way through. Some shots show how much fun I was having, and some were the exact shots I wanted to capture going in.
Jaimme absolutely nailed it.
Would I recommend StreetStar Studios?
100% yes.
From the studio setup, to the friendly team, to how comfortable and confident Jaimme made me feel — it was a brilliant experience from start to finish.
I would’ve stayed longer (because genuinely, I was having such a good time), but my little devils can’t drive themselves home from nursery yet.
My rating
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars.
If you’re an artiste and you need fresh, professional promo shots — I can’t recommend StreetStar Studios (and Jaimme!) enough.
