WHAT A YEAR ITS BEEN!
This time last year, Lainey Wilson UK Tribute didn't exist. It was an idea I'd been playing with - could I bring Lainey's music to UK stages the same way I'd been doing with Dolly for many years? Would audiences connect with her the way I had?
Turns out, they absolutely would.
Getting Started
The first few months of 2025 were a blur of decisions. Which songs? Which costumes? Solo or band? There's a lot that goes into launching a new tribute show, and honestly, some days I wasn't sure if I was making the right calls. But by May, we were ready. Festival season was starting, and it was time to see if this thing would work.
Festival Season
We kicked off with festivals such as Road to Nashville, Campfire Country, Monster Country Festival, Thrills and Chills and a string of other country events across the UK. The response was better than I'd hoped. People knew the songs. They sang along to most of the songs. They got it! Each show taught me something new about the show - what worked, what didn't, how to connect with different crowds. By the end of summer, the tribute had found its rhythm.
Leveling Up
Somewhere between summer and autumn, I made the decision to invest properly in the costumes. The shop-bought outfits were fine to start, but they weren't quite right. So I had replicas made - proper hand-made pieces that actually look like what Lainey wears on stage. The bell-bottoms, the fringe, the whole look. It made a massive difference (in my opinion).
Around the same time, the Luke & Lainey Live band show came together and was ready to go. Going from solo performances with backing tracks to a full live band with drums, guitar, and bass changed everything. The energy is completely different. It's a proper gig now.
Growing the Set
As the year went on, I kept adding songs. "Somewhere Over in Laredo," "Bell Bottoms Up," "Yesterday, All Day Everyday" - the setlist kept growing as I got more comfortable with the material. Every new song felt like another piece clicking into place.
What's Next
2026 is already looking busy. We've got theatres booked for the Luke & Lainey Live show, festival headline slots confirmed, and we're going back to a lot of the same events that booked us this year - which feels like the best compliment possible. There are even bookings coming in for 2027 already.
A year ago this was just an idea. Now it's a proper show with a growing following and a calendar that's filling up fast. Turns out the UK really does love Lainey Wilson. And I'm just getting started.
